Ski & Snowboard Packages Now Available!

September 30, 2008

It’s never too soon to be thinking about skiing. It may still be fall but once the leaves turn and drop it’s time for hot chocolate, schnapps and schussing and shreading down the hills.

If you are planning a New England ski vacation there’s no place better than in the Loon Valley. The town of Lincoln is surrounded by 4 great ski mountains. Cannon, LoonWaterville and Bretton Woods are all nearby. All offer their own brand of skiing but none are more than 45 minutes away.

The InnSeason Resorts ski packages include Loon and Cannon mountains, while tickets to the other mountains can be purchased at the resort front desks. If you need more information on other New Hampshire skiing be sure to go to SKINH. They have information on all the skiing in the state

Loon is opening two new trails to its’ South Peak expansion while Cannon has added new glade runs, plus some additional grooming equipment. If you haven’t skied Cannon yet, be sure to hop on the new shuttle from the resorts. Initially the shuttle will run on week ends and mid week during holiday periods.

More Foliage

September 26, 2008

Everyday now seems to offer another tree maturing to full color.  Just driving in any direction and we find some spectacular sights.  Of course we are still 10-14 days from a seasonal peak in color.  And even then it will take a while to end.  And right when it does?  We will have snow to play in.

New Trails in Progress

September 25, 2008

Loon Mountain is busy cutting new trails on South Mountain.  By December, we will have four trails in this new expansion area.  Check out our pictures here of the sun rising this morning over South Mountain and the newest trail almost finished.  Be sure to get your season pass lift tickets from Loon while the price is low, or use your InnSeason Club Playtime points for a pass.  See you soon at South Mountain.

Ski Magazine Gives Cannon Great Reviews!

September 25, 2008

In its October 2008 issue, SKI Magazine named Cannon Mountain among the Top 20 Resorts in the East. SKI Magazine readers like the “reasonable prices,” “down-home atmosphere,” and “narrow, twisting trails” of Cannon Mountain. The ski area was highlighted among the elite ski areas in North America by being ranked 6th in both Value and Scenery.   Cannon Mountain also scored an unprecedented seven top ten Eastern honors in the survey, five of which were among the top three.  This impressive list of honors for Cannon included rankings of:

·         #1 in the East for Value

·         #2 in the East for Scenery

·         #2 in the East for Access

·         #3 in the East for Overall Satisfaction

·         #3 in the East for Lifts

·         #5 in the East for Terrain/Challenge

·         #6 in the East for Terrain/Variety

Day One – Leaf Peeping at the Resort

September 25, 2008

Greeting to all!

This is our first post to the new blog for InnSeason Resorts South Mountain.  Also, do not miss all the exciting information at our Concierge and Activities blog.

Nestled amongst the trees, mountains and rivers we are a great setting for a peaceful vacation.  Here you see our outdoor heated pool, and some of the early signs of foliage colors.  It appears that the red colors are starting first, but over the next two weeks we will see every color come to life.

Some colors will remain until November, especially down in the valleys.  Don’t forget, snow sports at Loon and Cannon Mountains are right around the corner.

Come and visit us soon, or if not, checkout and find the blogs from our other resorts around New England.  One of them is just right for you.
