Dogs and Birds and Fish, Oh My!!!

The very first Pet Parade to benefit the New Hampshire Humane Society followed the Red Brick Road through the Village Shops Saturday, November 1st.
We were very pleased with the turnout and the weather was favorable. Participants included a bulldog dressed like a pig, a young lady wearing a scarecrow costume with two cockatiels perched on her shoulders, there was a yellow Labrador retriever clad in a pink cowboy hat and matching kerchief, goldfish served as dinner for a cat and many more. The parade was led through the mall and out on to Main Street by Clifford the Big Red Dog. Prizes, donated by Believe in Books Literacy Foundation, Texas Toast Eatery/Pig’s Ear BBQ, The Warming Hut, Queen’s Hive, Village Shops, and Citizen’s Bank Lincoln were awarded to the best dressed pet, funniest costume, most original costume, most unusual pet on parade and the best dressed owner/pet combo. What fun! This is sure to be an annual event.
