Papermill Theatre

July 30, 2009

The Papermill Theatre, located just behind the Lincoln Village Shops, opened for the 2009 summer season, their final season in the old Papermill building where they have been performing since 1986, on July 2nd with Smokey Joe’s Café which featured music from the 50’s such as Love Potion No. , Hound Dog, Yakety Yak. What incredible talent!

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown opened on July 15th. What fun! The actors did an amazing job portraying Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Sally and all of our favorite Peanuts characters. This musical is perfect for children and adults alike!

On July 23rd, On the Town opened. This classic musical tells the tale of three sailors on 24-hour shore leave who are looking for love and adventure in New York City in the early 40’s before shipping overseas. Musical hits include “New York, New York,” “Some Other Time” and “I Can Cook Too”. The dance moves in this particular musical are amazing. This musical inspired the Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra film of the same name.

I have been fortunate enough to see all three shows which run through August 22nd. The best place to purchase tickets is right here at our front desk but if you would like to purchase tickets in advance, visit http://www.papermilltheatre.org. You definitely will not want to miss out on seeing a show this summer at the Papermill Theatre!
