Adventure Concierge Update!

May 5, 2010

The warm weather has been here in the North Country for the last few days. With the temperatures getting in the high 70’s it makes you think about the summer time. We have been coming up with ideas for the summer and to make it so every one of all ages will enjoy everything! Some of the crafts we are planning on doing are; s’mores, tie dye t-shirts, decoupage plates and stress relief balls. Also, we will be doing an ice cream social, Adult sangria night and gifts in a jar. For trips we will be doing hikes, covered bridge tours and many more.

With all this going on at the resort we also have local attractions that will be opening within a month and half. If you have young children going over to Clark’s Trading Post to see the train bears show and ride on a train. Whales Tale Water Park is right up the road for those hot sunny days! On a nice clear sunny day taking a ride up the Cannon Aerial Tramway in Franconia Notch will be a great trip. If you chose to do the Cannon Tramway on a clear day you have a chance to see mountains of four states and Canada! While staying here at South Mountain Resort you may pick up your tickets for the local attractions here at the front desk. Please just ask when you check in for a list of prices!

Think summer!

The flume is opening for the season starting today! That is some exciting news for us because that means summer is going to be here very soon. Also, the Cog railway is opening today for weekends only until the end of May. Please check out the Cog Railway website for their train schedule. The other attractions such as; Lost River, Cannon Mountain Tram and Clark’s Trading Post do not open until Memorial Day weekend. If you want to come up and play a round of golf head on over to the Owls Nest Golf Course as they are open daily.

For activities that are going on in the resort we have hikes, arts and crafts and moose tours going on. There is a daily trip from the resort that will either go hiking, go see some on New Hampshire’s covered bridges or Eric’s famous everywhere and nowhere tour. For some of our arts and crafts we have toddler paint hour, jewelry making, design your own ceramic piggy bank and gifts in a jar. Now for the most popular trip we do in the area is the Moose Tours. This trip is no ordinary trip you will be out on the Moose Bus going all over Northern New Hampshire looking for Moose! You will be out for 3 hours with a chance to see multiple Moose. There is no guarantee you will see moose, but this is your best chance!! This trip fills up quickly so if you are interested in going please sign up once you get to the resort at check in!
