Bears on Parade

This year in Lincoln-Woodstock The Chamber of Commerce came up with the idea called “Bears on Parade.” You might ask what is Bears on Parade? Well Bears on Parade is the friendliest and the most outdoor art event of the year.  In the town of Lincoln-Woodstock there is 23 decorated and painted 36″ tall dancing bears.

In the above photo I am sitting in front of the Polar Express Bear and the Chamber of Commerce bear that is located in Chamber of Commerce office.

The next time you come visit, grab your map and start collecting all 23 bear paw stamps. You will find the maps at the front desk here at South Mountain. This event is a great way to see the local businesses and it is a fun activity for the family! For more information please visit the Lincoln-Woodstock Chamber of Commerce website.

Happy Trails,

Meghan

Tuesday, March 16th, is a busy activity day for us:

· In the morning you can join our professional water aerobics instructor at the indoor pool at Pollard Brook for a Water Mix Aerobics Class. This class is only an hour long and can only accommodate the first 12 people who sign up.

· If you would like to go snowshoeing Steve will be taking a trip up to Sabbaday Falls. This is a 3/4-mile round-trip hike up to a 3-tiered waterfall! Most of the trail is flat, except one small hill.

In the afternoon, join me on a snowshoeing trip to Greeley Pond. We will head over the Kanc highway for a 2.5 mile, round-trip hike into the woods to a pair of picturesque ponds. This is one of our most difficult hikes.

Adventure Concierge Update!

February 22, 2010

Good Morning!

If you were to drive through Lincoln you would probably think winter is over. In fact winter is far from over Loon Mountain still has some great skiing/snowboard available. Check out their snow report at http://www.loonmtn.com/winter/conditions.aspx.

Activities that are going on this week range from snowshoeing trips around the area to arts and crafts. Some of the crafts we are doing are picture frame jewellery boxes, decoupage plates, and gifts in a jar. That is only to name a few of them. The trails we are snowshoeing this week are the Basin in Franconia Notch, the Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch and Sabbaday Falls that is located on the Kanc.

The photo above is the covered bridge located in the Flume Gorge. A guest of ours took this photo back in the beginning of January on our snowshoeing trip.

If you are looking to see some of New Hampshire’s hidden secrets then Eric’s Everywhere and Nowhere tour is for you. He will take you out for 3 hours to show you waterfalls, covered bridges, scenic vistas but every trip is a new adventure. It’s coming up to maple sugaring season here and if you would like to learn how the process is done on Tuesday afternoons we have a trip to Fadden’s Sugar house and General Store.

If you have any questions about other events or activities that is going on in the area please just give the resort a call and ask for the Adventure Concierge!

Happy Trails!
